Thanks for joining me!
Almost 900 years ago, Richard of Chichester wrote a prayer that included these words: “may I know thee more clearly, love thee more dearly, and follow thee more nearly, day by day. Amen.”
That may sound familiar if you’ve heard the 70’s hit Day by Day. Richard’s word “know” was changed to “see”, but otherwise a 13th century prayer entered popular culture.
When I began to plan my entry into social media and blogging, someone said I needed a tag line – a short phrase that sums up what my mission is. They were right. I’ve always seen my calling in Ephesisans 4:12-13. My prayer for those I’ve worked with has been based on Ephesians 3:16-19. Since those six verses are fairly lengthy, I chose the summary tag line: See, Love, Follow. It’s an encouragement to others as well as a prayer for myself.
I’ll give further explainations in future blog posts. Please check back periodically. I hope I can manage to post at least once a month. Anything more than that will be “lagniappe”, as they say on the Gulf Coast!
